Editorial process

Every serial starts as an outline. An editor decides the cast, the setting, the rules the story has to keep, and what happens in each chapter. That outline is written before any prose exists, and it is the document the rest of the process answers to.

Where the draft comes from

First drafts are assembled with AI, working from the outline and a story bible that fixes names, dates, places, and the facts a later chapter is not allowed to contradict. The model does not choose what happens. It writes a version of what the outline already says happens.

What people do

An editor reads every chapter before it publishes. Chapters are cut, rewritten, or sent back. A draft that does not match the outline does not get fixed at the sentence level; it gets rewritten. Nothing reaches this site without a person having read it end to end and approved it.

Continuity is checked against the story bible rather than against memory. If a chapter changes a fact, either the fact was wrong in the bible or the chapter is wrong, and one of the two gets corrected before publication.

What we do not do

We do not publish unread drafts. We do not present these stories as written entirely by hand, and we do not present them as written entirely by a machine. Both descriptions would be inaccurate.

Corrections

Published chapters can change. Typos and continuity errors are fixed in place. If a correction changes what happens in the story rather than how it reads, we say so on the chapter. If you find something wrong,tell us.

Why we describe this at all

Readers are entitled to know how what they are reading was made. That is the whole reason this page exists.
